Buy Ceftin Cefuroxime: The Benefits and Side Effects

Ceftin (cefuroxime) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It is most commonly prescribed to treat respiratory, urinary tract, and ear infections, but it can also be used to treat certain skin infections and gonorrhea. It is available in both brand and generic forms, and is usually taken twice a day.

Common Use

Ceftin is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. Ceftin works by stopping the growth of bacteria. This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections. It will not work for viral infections (such as common cold, flu).

Dosage and Direction

Take Ceftin exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Follow the directions on your prescription label. Take each dose with a full glass of water. Ceftin can be taken with or without food. Do not take more or less of it or take it more often than prescribed by your doctor.

Precautions

Before taking Ceftin tell your doctor if you are allergic to cephalosporins such as Omnicef, Keflex, and others, or if you have: kidney disease; or a history of intestinal problems, such as colitis. If you have any of these conditions, you may need a dose adjustment or special tests to safely take Ceftin.

Contraindications

Do not use Ceftin if you are allergic to cefuroxime or to any other cephalosporin antibiotic, such as: cefaclor (Ceclor), cefadroxil (Duricef), cefazolin (Ancef), cefdinir (Omnicef), cefditoren (Spectracef), cefixime (Suprax), cefotaxime (Claforan), cefpodoxime (Vantin), cefprozil (Cefzil), ceftaroline (Teflaro), ceftazidime (Fortaz), ceftibuten (Cedax), ceftriaxone (Rocephin), cefuroxime (Ceftin), cephalexin (Keflex), and others.

Possible Side Effects

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat. Stop using Ceftin and call your doctor at once if you have a serious side effect such as:

  • severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody;
  • fever, chills, body aches, flu symptoms;
  • urinating less than usual or not at all;
  • easy bruising, unusual bleeding;
  • jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes);
  • pale or yellowed skin, dark colored urine, confusion or weakness;
  • seizure (convulsions);
  • sore throat, headache, and/or fever with a severe blistering, peeling, and red skin rash.

Drug Interaction

Before taking Ceftin, tell your doctor if you are also taking probenecid (Benemid); or vitamins or supplements that contain iron, zinc, or calcium. You may not be able to take Ceftin, or you may require a dosage adjustment or special tests during treatment.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Ceftin, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

Overdose

If you think you have overdosed the medicine seek emergency medical help at once. The overdose symptoms are severe stomach pain, nausea, and vomiting.

Storage

Store Ceftin at room temperature away from moisture and heat. Keep the bottle tightly closed when not in use.
